week 3

This week for maths I have been working on decimals in my dragon maths book. For literacy, we have been writing a story for our reports. mine is about a potato chip and a dog called frank. For inquiry, we have a grid and I have done four it is fun. Yesterday we did P.E. and we did high jump it was hard. On Mondays, we have Kapa Haka because in week 5 we are going to Masterton. For lunchtime sport we are doing T-ball the rules are dumb but I am doing it today anyway. This week has been fun.

week 2

This term for inquiry we have been explaining the unexplained. We got given a grid worksheet with lots of activities to do and I made up an alien language and wrote a letter in that language to send to the aliens about the earth. It was very fun.

Week 1

This term we have a new inquiry called explaining the unexplained. It has been a fun inquiry we have been looking at the Bermuda triangle, Mermaids, Unicorns, Aliens and so on. For maths, I have been doing fractions to decimals which is hard. For this term, our P.E is athletics rotation. We have done long jump and discus. This week was Chinese language week so we went to the hall and made dumplings. This week is a short week because it is labour weekend. I am going to the A&P show tomorrow with my sister. I can't wait.

week 7

This week was a great week. On Monday I had swimming after school it was really fun and my coach Willy said I had improved in a drill we did called 11 17. On Tuesday Ruby and I had rugby at lunch it was cool. I have been learning how order factors. today for literacy I read my speech out to the class I thought I did well. Lately, our class has been doing Mandarin. I have learnt how to count to ten in mandarin. I have been doing the guitar and have been learning lots. this week has been great.

week 5

This week in tech we made snack pizzas and they were delicious. We also had the cross country on Tuesday and I came 39. On Wednesday at lunch time, I was doing a rugby trial and it was very fun. We have been Writing speeches on healthy body strong mind. Yesterday we did yoga I didn't like it. I have been reading a book that brother lets me read. It is called Haunted a road trip around New Zealand. My friends and I play a game called speed place value for maths. This week was cool.

week 7

1. I am learning how to do the splits for hockey.
2. I have learnt that injections don't hurt.
3. I have learnt most of my 12 times tables.
4. I have been working on my maths.
5. I have learnt I work better when listing to music.
6. I have been work really hard on my inquiry.
7. I have learnt that my magnetic Mitt is like cheating.
8. I have learnt that haveing a full licence is awesome.

Week 5

1. I have learnt how to do short division.
2. I have learnt when the first softball game was.
3. I learnt I work better by myself.
4. I learnt who invented softball.
5. I learnt how to play golden child.
6. I have learnt about the water cycle.
7. I have learnt who discovered the rainbow
8. I have learnt slime is hard to get off cloths.

week 3

1. I have learnt how to do 5 digit addition and subtraction.

2. I have learnt that ruby's favourite animal is a unicorn.

3. I have learnt A7 on the guitar 

4. I have learnt lots about rainbows and unicorns.

5. I have learnt that some sign language.

6. I have learnt that Hungary is by Romania.

7. I have learnt that powtoon is hard.

8. I have learnt lots in science.

  

This week was the first week of term 2. It has been awesome, for maths I have been focusing on using multiplication in problems. I have been doing a presentation on rainbows and learnt a lot about it. I have learnt how to make a rocket. Also Ruby taught me that paint smells like sweaty armpits. Also Ruby taught me that you can only find unicorns if you are a virgin. This week has been great.

week 11

This week I have been doing lots of things. For maths, i have learnt lengths and decimals. Also for art, we had to colour in a price of paper with crayon and paint it with black poster paint and when I dried we scratch it out with pencil and did patterns. For literacy, we had to do a T-chart with NZ on one side and Another country on the other side. I choose Russia and we had to find differences them. My favourite part of the week has been art. I am very excited for the holidays but I am going to miss school. This week has been great so has this term. I am excited for next term.

FALESHIA

In room 21 my friend Ruby and I have given the class a challenge. Everyone must bring an egg to school and make it a home. Ruby and I have written everyone's names up on the board and if your egg cracks we rub it off. It has been a crazy start but some of us have survived, We think this is a fun challenge for all of us. Ruby and I set this challenge for the class so we can learn more about being responsible for our things. I know that is hard for me I am not good at keeping my stuff safe. The winner of this challenge gets a prize from Ruby and me. It is going to be great.

week 8

this week I did another inquiry it was called Questions about the body. Also I for reading I have been doing read theory and reading the eagle in the snow. I have really enjoyed literacy we have been doing a prezi about sir Edmund Hillary. For Kapa Haka, we have been learning a new song and the actions to the national anthem. I have not been enjoying PE cause I have a broken thumb from softball. my favourite part of this week has been inquiry my inquiries and others I have learnt a lot from them. For maths, we have been doing maths buddy and rich tasks. this week has been great.

week 7

This week has been great I have learnt lots about Anne Frank. For maths, I have been doing maths buddy and learnt how to do area. For writing, we had to write a scary story so I wrote One called Johnny and I have been learning where to put full stops and capitals. My favourite thing we have been doing at school is inquiry I have done 6 inquiries about the body, gravity, space, softball, populated pets and pollution. This morning I had hockey trials it was a lot of fun but cold. I have been enjoying PE, literacy, math,  inquiry and music. This week was AWESOME!!!      

Week 6

This week we have been learning Te Reo. I learnt how to say cash me outside. For maths, I have learnt descending numbers and ascending numbers. I have really enjoyed technology with Mrs Houghton. We have finally finished our LED lights and now we are with Mr Cotterill. I can't wait for this technology with Mr Cotterill. I also have gotten into the super six touch for the school I am very excited. For inquiry, My friend Ruby explained that if we don't stop eating meat we will have no chickens, cows, sheep and much more. Also, My friend Emma named some animals that are going to die because of global warming. I have had a great week.       

My L.E. needed to be portable, durable and bright. I used a 9 volt battery and corflute folded into a triangle to protect the circuit.

Week 5

This week for maths I learnt how to do decimals and factors. Also, I learnt how to solder in technology. I really enjoyed Inquiry we have been learning about Turangawaewae and learned about what cause gravity. I am doing music tomorrow but I have been doing guitar lessons and have learned a song called 8 days a week by the Beatles. Today we did Te Reo Maori it was lots of fun. I have also got some learning goals for maths, writing, and PE. For PE, I have to relax when I am throwing for maths I have to work on decimals and factors which I have done and for writing, I must work on full stops and capital letters. This week was great.        

Learning at HNI!

This year I have been learning sign language. It has been lots of fun. I can do the alphabet and say some things in sign language. My goal for this year is to be able to speak another language. I have also put my name down for lots of things like Kapa haka, Canoe polo and many more. I have made lots of friends and have meet lots of lovely teachers. I am enjoying tech and music.  In tech I learnt that you can light a fire with a lemon. I have signed up for guitar and learnt D, A7, Bm, G and A. I have enjoyed HNI so much from the people to the learning - HNI is a great school!
